From 1 July 2025, the Cheaper Home Batteries Program was rolled out nationally, giving households, small businesses and community facilities access to significant rebates on home battery systems. This initiative has already helped many Australians save thousands on battery installations, using the same trusted Small‑scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) framework that has supported solar rebates since 2011.

In addition to the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, the NSW Government has now introduced the Home Energy Saver Loan — a major program designed to help homeowners and landlords upgrade their homes with modern, energy‑efficient technology.

The loan program offers interest‑free loans of up to $15,000. In addition, a separate discount of up to $4,000 will soon be available to eligible homeowners and renters for approved battery installations.
 

Northern Rivers Solar & Electrical is now an approved supplier for the NSW Home Energy Saver Loan, meaning we can officially assist clients in accessing the interest‑free government loan for solar and battery installations. This approval also positions us to offer the upcoming NSW Battery Discount as soon as it becomes available. We’ll continue updating this page as new programs roll out, and in the meantime we remain fully able to support clients through the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate.
